I felt like I could create multiple threads posting about bugs/glitches or suggestions/feedback so I thought I could make a thread to do all those things in. So if you want to report a bug/glitch or just general feedback good or bad (but keep it positive) then please post here and I will make an attempt to keep most things updated in the OP.

Build 30 Build 30 is coming shortly so I figured I would get this set up now. Feel free to provide feedback on any of the new changes from Build 29
Things we can look forward to in Build 30 or later (not final)
- Removal of the background. To be replaced with white
- Possible retooling of how the AD works (laser cannon with aiming capabilities)
- Static rectangles in the editor will no longer overlap and create a darker color in the overlap
- A replay element for the player

Suggestions

Build 29

Bugs/Glitches
- The speed the AD explodes does not change when slow motion is activated.*(Slow motion to be reomoved in bld. 30)
- Attempting to log in with a name/password containing the letter 'r' while playing a level will cause the level to reset.*(will be fixed in bld. 30)

Feedback- Negative
- The header picture on protonaut.net does not seem to match the theme of the game. It is also very large and requires me to scroll down. I feel this takes away from the game as the center of focus when first clicking.* (addressed in second post)
- I cannot seem to find a link to my levels, if there is one, it is difficult (for me) to locate.*(will be added in a later build)

Feedback- Positive
- The overall theme of the dynamic game pieces looks very scientific, yet simple.*

Suggestions
- There should be a link that goes directly back to the game from the forums.*(will be added in a later build)
- The text in the tutorial text box could be a bit larger.* (should be fixed in a later build)
- A quick reply feature for forums*(might be added later, addressed by weasel in 4th post)
- With the removal of Slow motion(build 30) I think the spacebar should be used as jump, along with the up arrow. Since I played so many games with WASD and SPACE for jump, this is more intuitive for me.* (This will be included in Build 30)

(So far these are all my suggestions/feedback (marked with an *) so I would like to say that I am in no way trying to bash the game or force you to change anything-- these are just my thoughts, what you do with them is up to you.)

Looks great, I really like the news feed at the bottom.

A quick reply feature on the forums could be useful as well.

Thanks for the feedback.

- Pressing "R" during login is fixed for build 30.
- Slow-mo we've decided to remove from the game after playing 15 rounds without using it. It's neat, but it's not really worth anything. Excluding it happens to "remove" 3 bugs too.
- The level browser is going to become epic in scope and will have an obvious "my levels" button.
- Your two forum requests actually require a hack on PhpBB, and I don't feel like I have time to deal with it right now. Maybe things have changed in the latest version or something, but I'm not aware of it! I'll get to them eventually though. I've even considered changing to that other forum software, but it costs money...
- Tutorial text commandeered the "level saving" box, so it's not meant to look good at all :) Fixed in a later version as we get the art assets into place. I just needed a place to put it temporarily :)

Still feels good to have you point out those things though - justifies us wanting to fix them ;)

Thanks for the update, I have also updated my original post. I also encourage any other forum members to chime in with their 2 cents!

Wahoo! I hope you are having fun with all this code stuff. I know it is satisfying to spend a lot of time on something when the end result is successful.

I don't know if this is the place or not, but I'm really confused with the game, I have run it successfully ages ago, but now I cannot load any levels, replays, but I can turn on the music, log in, and open some of the interfaces. Help please! :(

Do you see any notifications pop up at all, saying you have an old version or something?

You probably have an old, broken, beta-cookie. Clear your cookies out and it should work allright.

I've cleared cache, cookies, and changed PC, it keeps saying levels are made by a person called "Another Thing". It's really confusing.

The replay loads, but when I click it to load, it freezes and then it says it has finished after a bit of time.
Edit: Then it gives me "Tried recording keys while in playback mode. Woopsie Daisy." in a debug output box.

Try resetting controls back to defaults (options menu, change controls). Also on the main menu see what Build # it is (bottom right corner)

Thanks weasel, that worked, probably still using beta controls or something.

Yeah, Build 32->33 made a catastrophic error in the way the controls were saved in the cookie. :) Clearing your cookies should have solved it as well though, so that's weird...

I just had a good laugh at how this forum transferred the size of everything in my first post :P

I have been too busy with school and work as of late to do anything really enjoyable. Ive barely played FC, I played TF2 for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday, and I have spent like 3 weeks on a DS game to get to a point which should have taken me like 2 days. Ive checked out some of the builds, but at the moment I can't really devote a ton of time to protonaut (which is a shame) but I enjoy playing it every once in a while to see the changes. I can tell that you really care about how the game is when it 'goes live' and as far as I can tell it should do fairly well. (it won't be a game where people are like "wow did the creator spend like 3 minutes on this?")

At the moment I am taking a break from reading "Titus Andronicus" out loud, since that is the only way I can read it without my brain going to another place. It is working fairly well so far. And making different voices is always entertaining to me.

how do you change the size of elements because I have seen it in a few levels now but haven't been able to recreate it.

OK, I spent a LOT of time on a level, and now it won't Save! If your internet goofs up while you are in the editor, does that mean you can never save that? That would really suck, i worked hard on this.

It means you used too many pieces. Happened to me, deleted some, and could save it.

Thankyou! I will be re-doing the level shortly. Do you think its the same old 120 from FC?

those are levels from previous builds where sizing was allowed. It's no longer an option in the editor.

There should be no piece limit - I'll have to try to recreate that bug. Sorry about that.
