Greg and I were jamming out new versions every hour in the chatroom all day today. Fruits of our lions (rawr):

Changes in Build 19:

* Aluminum is now square. I think this will break most levels that currently have aluminum in them; sorry. :( I can probably get a recovering fix for that if there's enough interest.
* Default level changed to 338 as level 300 no longer works
* Aluminum was 4x heavier than other elements. Now all elements are equal in weight (just for testing - might make solids/metals heavier eventually).
* Made the password change form blot out the password instead of being plaintext
* Pressing "R" while testing a level from the editor will reset the test level instead of the previously loaded level
* Gravity is now set correctly when testing a level from the editor
* After using the menu while playing a level, the game will now regain keyboard focus without having to click
* When using the menu during gameplay, the game will now pause (won't pause on victory, gameOver, and notifications)
* Fixed application crash upon closing the save dialogue box
* Camera no longer follows the character after death
* New death, running, idle, and midair animations for the character (midair slightly glitched)
* Left/right art mirror for movement (no transition)
* Fixed up some minor artistic things
* Added a healthbar for gameplay. It works - trust me - it just taught me that I have to rewrite my damage code. :/
* I reworked the code for how the player moves - there are some glitches. There is no limit to jumpspeed and you can't move when you are travelling too fast mid-air (both will be fixed shortly)
* I apparantly broke the mousewheel zoom.

im not sure aluminium should be square, when you make an aluminium triangle, you can use it as a car just by walking on it,
it works with other elements, but you touch them and the car is dead.

maybe you can make another element that is round and cant be destroyed

Well you have to remember - this game isn't FC, you aren't really "supposed" to make cars and such. I mean it's great if you can - go for it! But the gameplay is not going to revolve around it. You'll have to make your FC-style contraptions within the constraints of the game - not vice versa. :)

the health bar shouldnt be there, i mean, it seems that everything hurts you, and now you can kill yourself just by jumping against the wall a bunch of times

eventually the player's health will probably be a bit more robust.

well, I did say

trust me - it just taught me that I have to rewrite my damage code. :/

Just because you get hurt too quickly doesn't mean you shouldn't have a health bar.

I think the health bar is really cool! It also allows you to get hit more times, when something would usually kill you.

i dont think it is like that, things that have always killed you (like being crushed or dynamite) still kill you instantly even if your health bar is full, and now you get hurt hitting stuff, so now you die more

but if you are planning to keep it i suggest you dont get hurt by jumping against the wall

I don't like when i get hurt by crushing

I think crushing is about the only way you'll end up being hurt in the final version. Or maybe being in an explosion..

crushing and explosions are ok (but the character still needs to be stronger) and maybe also hitting something but only when you are moving very fast (that way car crashes would kill you) not just when jumping against a wall

also i think there is something wrong with the characters's animation, because it always looks like it is moving backwars, the round thing looks like a head, i dont know if it is really supposed to be one, though
